How we make money, in full
Affiliate commissions only. No paid placement, no sponsorships, no editorial fees, no markup on your purchase. Disclosure appears above every affiliate link on the site at the same size and contrast as body text — as required by FTC 16 CFR 255 and the 2023 Endorsement Guides update. Below: how commissions work, the full partner list, ranking methodology, and which brands are excluded and why.
How commissions work
When you click an outbound link to a partner retailer, the retailer’s affiliate network sets a tracking cookie on your browser. If you make a purchase within the cookie window (typically 24 hours to 60 days), the retailer pays EyeVerdict a percentage of the sale. The amount you pay is unchanged. There is no markup.
Commission rates and cookie windows vary by retailer. Verified rates come from the program’s own page or network listing; inferred rates reflect network category norms.
Partner programs
| Retailer | Network | Commission | Cookie | Geo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Associates (US) | Amazon | 1% (Health & Personal Care) | 24 hours | US |
| Amazon Associates (UK) | Amazon | 3% | 24 hours | UK |
| GlassesUSA | CJ / ShareASale | ~20% (inferred) | 60 days | US, UK, AU, CA |
| Zenni Optical | CJ / direct | ~10% (inferred) | 30 days | US, intl |
| EyeBuyDirect | ShareASale / CJ | 10–15% (inferred) | 14–30 days | US, UK, AU, CA |
| Felix Gray | FlexOffers | ~10–15% (inferred) | 30 days | US |

| Mister Spex (DE Phase 2) | AWIN #11578 | 10% (verified) | 30 days | DE, AT, CH |
Rates marked “inferred” reflect network category norms and affiliate roundup reporting at time of last review. Verified after approval into each program.
Ranking methodology
Within a recommendation set, partners are ordered by a curated priority that considers user fit first, geographic eligibility second, and commission rate third. A retailer is never included or excluded based on commission alone. See the full methodology for the selection rules.
Excluded brands
The following brands are excluded from all EyeVerdict tools and content:
- Philola — Multi-claim disease-treatment positioning past the FDA structure-function boundary; no verifiable affiliate program.
- iGenics — Aggressive marketing claims; documented FTC exposure risk in supplement-review databases.
16 CFR 255 compliance
The FTC’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255, updated August 2023) require that material connections between an endorser and a brand be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. EyeVerdict implements this by:
- Placing the disclosure component above the first affiliate link on every page that contains one.
- Setting disclosure text at the same font size and contrast as surrounding body copy.
- Avoiding disclosure-only-in-footer or disclosure-in-tooltip patterns.
- Linking the full disclosure (this page) from the site footer.
